The partial solar eclipse 6th January 2019

Solar Eclipse 6th January 2019
The partial eclipse will be visible in parts of northeast Asia and the North Pacific. An eclipse is a celestial phenomenon that takes place when the Sun, Moon, and Earth are aligned in a straight line.

During a partial solar eclipse, the Moon, the Sun and Earth don’t align in a perfectly straight line, and the Moon casts only the outer part of its shadow, the penumbra, on Earth. It turns dark during a total solar eclipse and temperatures dip since the Sun is completely blocked.

The partial solar eclipse took place on January 6 starting 23:34:08 in UTC, which stands for Coordinated Universal Time.
